Forvis offers a full line of XRD components and accessories which can be used to upgrade existing instruments. We can design and fabricate specialized components (e.g. sample stages and sample chambers), too. Below is a partial list of the custom developed components that we offer:

 

 
 

PIN Diode Detector

Used to monitor the direct beam intensity, this detector is essential for instrument alignment. The sytem consists of a PIN diode detector housed in custom AL casing and an amplifier-converter unit, which directly outputs a frequency signal proportional to x-ray intensity. The frequency output can be connected to a counter and read out by a computer. See product Brochure for details.

 
       
 

Motorized Sample Stage Top

This custom stage fits into popular Huber goniometers and provides X-Y-Z translations with 2 mm resolution.

 
       
 

X-ray Vacuum Slits Top

Motorized X-Y slits have four independent Tungsten blades for accurate definition of the beam. The slits are enclosed in a vacuum housing with coupling to common flanges.

 
       
 

Temperature Controlled Sample Chamber Top

Designed for in-site XRD studies of proteins and polymers, the sample chamber maintains sample temperature at between -20oC - +150oC. The integrated temperature controller and power supply unit provides 0.01oC temperature stability.

 
       
 

Vacuum Beam Stop Top

Housed in a large vacuum chamber, the beam stop is mounted on a suspended frame with motorized or manual X-Y translations for easy alignment.

 
       
 

Custom Sample Holder for Philips XPERT MRD Top

The custom holder replaces standard Philips thin film sample holders. The stage consists of a base plate and magnetic clamps, which can be positioned arbitrarily on the base plate to secure irregularly shaped samples. Very each to install and use. Also available is a replacement stage with tilt adjustments for substrate miscut correction.
