What We Offer: We customize x-ray
diffraction instruments to suit the customer's specific application
and budget. We can design and build each instrument using
a large collection of custom developed and third party components.
The customer can choose:
X-ray sources: rotating anode, sealed-tube, micro-source
Optics: Göbel mirror, total reflection mirror,
crystal monochromator
Beam Definition: manual and motorized slits, in air
or vacuum
Intensity Control: Automatic attenuators and shutter,
incident beam monitor
Sample Stage: 1-4 circles of rotation, X-Y-Z translations
(manual or motorized), tilt adjustments
Environment Chamber: temperature and humidity ovens
Sample Holders: capillary, powder, wafer, and freely
suspended film
Flight Paths: evacuated
Beam Stop: suspended in air or vacuum chamber, manual
or motorized adjustments, no wire shadow!
Detector: image plate, CCD, multiwire, scintillation,
proportional counter, linear PSD, solid state
Radiation Enclosures: custom made, with size ranging
from tabletop to full room
Data Acquisition Control: SPEC, Labview
Data Analysis: third party package specified by users
How we build it: We start from a
careful evaluation of the customer's application requirements.
Based on technical specifications derived from this analysis,
we will recommend an instrument configuration which would
meet the customer's needs and budget. The design will be refined
and finalized through close consultation with the customer.
We work closely with our customers in the construction phase
as well. We can deliver a complete turnkey system or work
with the customer to construct the instrument on-site. The
latter approach is preferred by some customers because it
offers added training and educational benefits.
