Hospital 340B Program Annual Recertification Begins August 11

The window for 340B Drug Pricing Program (340B Program) recertification for hospital entities begins on August 11, 2021. To remain in the 340B Program, the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) requires that entities acknowledge and attest to all applicable information within the entity account in the 340B database. This recertification covers both parent entity and registered child sites where applicable. Last year, requirements were heightened to include uploading of multiple supporting documents.
Prior to the recertification period, covered entities should review the entity Authorizing Official (AO) and Primary Contact (PC) per HRSA annual recertification guidance and review 340B OPAIS records for accuracy. If changes to an entity’s 340B Program occur prior to the recertification period, it’s recommended to fill out a change request rather than waiting for the recertification period. Entities that miss this deadline may be terminated from the 340B Program, so proper AO and PC contact information is critical.
We recommend covered entities think through the effect of any changes they plan to make during the recertification window. Please reach out to your BKD Trusted Advisor™ for recertification questions or submit the Contact Us form below.
