Due to potential health and physical safety concerns, jurisdictional challenges, cost considerations and/or other matters, legal counsel and forensic professionals have performed full or partially remote investigations for many years. Advances in technology, such as cloud computing and video conferencing, have made conducting remote investigations easier and therefore, more commonplace. This prevalence requires consideration and potential mitigation of related inherent risks.
