The annual recertification window for federally qualified health centers and most grantee-type entities opened January 30, 2023 and will close February 27, 2023. Annual recertification is mandatory for entities to remain in the 340B Drug Pricing Program (340B) and continue purchasing covered outpatient drugs at discounted rates.

It is important that entities confirm the 340B program authorizing official and primary contact is accurate in the Office of Pharmacy Affairs Information System (OPAIS)—the 340B program database. The contacts listed on OPAIS are the only individuals who will receive email notifications about recertification.

There is currently no information on when the Health Resources & Services Administration will require Title X family planning clinics, sexually transmitted disease clinics, and tuberculosis clinics to go through recertification. In addition, hospital entities can expect the recertification process to occur this summer.

FORVIS can help entities navigate the annual 340B recertification process along with other 340B program requirements.
