BKD Hires Forensics & Valuation Professionals to Serve New York Market
NEW YORK – Angela Morelock, managing partner of BKD CPAs & Advisors’ Forensics & Valuation Services division, is pleased to announce the addition of two new hires in BKD’s New York office: Managing Director Shlomo Lang and Director Peter Lohrey.
“We are very excited to welcome Lang and Lohrey to our New York City office. These additions will allow us to offer deep expertise in forensic accounting, litigation support, expert testimony and valuation services to our New York clients,” said Morelock.
Lang has more than 20 years of valuation and financial advisory experience and has served both public and private enterprises worldwide. He specializes in the valuation of businesses, business interests, securities and intangible assets and has issued valuation opinions for a variety of purposes including financial reporting, tax planning and compliance, strategic business planning, mergers and acquisitions, estate and gift taxation, bankruptcy and restructuring, dispute resolution and litigation support. His valuation experience encompasses a diverse spectrum of industries. Before joining BKD, Lang held financial consulting and valuation positions with various international accounting firms and leading professional services firms. He also served as the CFO of a full-service global independent animation company. More recently, he served as a valuation leader of a large audit, tax and advisory firm in New York. Lang is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) and holds an Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) designation. He also earned a Certified in Entity and Intangible Valuations (CEIV) credential. Lang is a member of the American Society of Appraisers and a non-CPA associate member of the AICPA. He is a graduate of Fordham University and Tel Aviv University with an M.B.A. degree in accounting and finance and an M.A. degree in economics and business administration, respectively.
Lohrey has more than 35 years of experience in the forensic accounting and valuation profession, specializing in fair value reporting matters, commercial damage calculations, business valuation for tax and litigation purposes and more. Prior to joining BKD, he was a director in the Forensic, Valuation and Litigation Support Services group for an international CPA firm. He also has served as the Northeast regional director for a national valuation firm and led his own consulting firm where he and his staff provided valuation advice to large corporations and business planning advice to startup companies. Lohrey is a former forensic accounting professor at Montclair State University and has proven to be a thought leader in his field through various well-known publications and presentations. He is a graduate of George Washington University and Loyola University Maryland with his Ph.D. in accounting and finance and M.S.F./M.B.A. degree in finance, respectively.
In addition to these two hires, BKD Managing Consultant Sam Schriver is relocating from Southwest Missouri to New York, further expanding BKD’s Forensics & Valuation Services team in the Northeast.
