NATIONAL OFFICE – BKD CPAs & Advisors announced that John Mather will succeed Wendy Henry upon her retirement as the managing partner (MP) for St. Louis and Decatur, effective June 1, 2021.
Mather is currently the national industry partner for BKD National Commercial Services Group. He also is a board member of the National Association of Manufacturers, where he provides a national and global perspective on the effects of federal government action on manufacturers’ ability to grow and prosper. Regional Managing Partner Abe Cole said Mather has proven himself as a leader by generating significant growth through his local and national business development efforts. “As a result of Wendy’s leadership, St. Louis and Decatur continue to be one of the strongest practice units within BKD, and I’m confident John will continue building on this momentum,” he said.
Cole said he is grateful for the incredible strides Henry has made in elevating BKD’s brand awareness and recognition in the St. Louis and Decatur business communities. These offices will continue focusing on providing unmatched client service, generating consistent and high-impact growth, collaboration and engagement of all team members.
Henry has worked closely with Mather since moving to St. Louis 11 years ago and said she regards him as a strong and thoughtful leader. “John will represent our communities well and continue delivering strong growth and rewarding career opportunities for our team members,” said Henry.
“Wendy has done a tremendous job leading our practice unit and has set the bar high. My goal is to continue to work with all of the talented teams in both offices and to live up to the BKD mission of providing Unmatched Client Service®,” said Mather.
Mather will continue in his current national industry partner role until the firm identifies a new leader for BKD National Commercial Services Group.
