FORVIS adds Todd Reinstein to Federal Tax Specialty Services team
WASHINGTON – FORVIS is pleased to announce the addition of Todd Reinstein as a partner with its Federal Tax Specialty Services team. Reinstein is based in the Washington, D.C., market and will serve FORVIS clients nationwide.
Reinstein brings more than 30 years of accounting, tax, and legal experience to his new role. He specializes in helping corporate clients evaluate federal tax issues including the planning and structuring of transactions. He has significant experience with corporate loss limitation studies (Section 382) and the tax aspects of bankruptcy and workouts. Reinstein is the co-author of Bloomberg BNA Tax Management Portfolio, No. 764-4th, Dividends – Cash and Property.
Prior to joining FORVIS, Reinstein spent 18 years with an Am Law 50 law firm advising clients on federal corporate income tax law. Prior to working at the law firm, he worked for six years as a tax manager for two international accounting firms, advising domestic and foreign clients on tax planning, with a focus on compliance and the financial aspects of accounting for income taxes. Reinstein began his career with the IRS, where he conducted independent reviews and appraisals of various IRS operations, including the appeals, examination, and collections divisions.

Reinstein is a licensed CPA in the District of Columbia and Maryland. He is a fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel, past chair of the AICPA Tax Division’s Corporations and Shareholders Technical Resource, former editor of the AICPA’s Tax Advisor, and past chair of the Federal Bar Association Section of Taxation. He is a frequent speaker at the tax sections of the D.C. Bar and American Bar Association meetings, as well as Tax Executive Institute meetings.
He is a graduate of Tulane University, New Orleans, with a bachelor of science in management, and earned a master of accountancy from Nova Southeastern University, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Reinstein also holds a J.D. with honors from the University of Florida, Gainesville, and an L.L.M. from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C.
