FORVIS among first organizations to be accredited as a CMMC Assessor by the Cyber AB
FORVIS is pleased to be accredited as an Authorized CMMC 3rd Party Assessor Organization (C3PAO) with the CMMC Accreditation Body. FORVIS, created by the merger of equals of BKD and DHG effective June 1, 2022, has validated with the Cyber Accreditation Body (Cyber AB) that the firm meets obligations as an assessor. This accreditation allows FORVIS to conduct assessments for the CMMC certification that will be required in future defense contracts.
An interim federal defense acquisition rule to introduce CMMC certification into contracts is currently in development and is expected in the spring of 2023. A voluntary certification program is currently underway, and the Department of Defense is encouraging contractors to adopt CMMC certification early to demonstrate commitment to cybersecurity ahead of the regulatory requirement.
“This accreditation allows us to assist government contractors who must achieve CMMC certification for their contract bids,” said Tom Tollerton, the leader of FORVIS’ Cybersecurity Solutions team, and a CMMC provisional assessor. “We are currently working with contractors in all industries to prepare for certification and are pleased to be helping DoD and the Cyber AB with this important initiative.”
“Our new name, FORVIS, represents our firm’s unique forward vision to help clients prepare for what is next with new offerings and innovations and achieving this accreditation embodies what clients can expect from our firm,” said Scott Brezler, managing partner of the firm’s Government Contractor Industry Services Group. “We look forward to continuing to seek new opportunities to be a trusted advisor for our clients.”
