NATIONAL OFFICE – BKD CPAs & Advisors has announced Jennifer Hannah as its next chief legal officer, effective June 1, 2022. Hannah succeeds Tim McNamara, who will retire at the end of May 2022.
Hannah joined BKD in June 2021 and currently serves as general counsel. Prior to joining BKD, she was a partner at Lathrop GPM, where, in addition to serving on Lathrop’s executive committee for several years, she spent two decades litigating matters on behalf of companies in a variety of industries throughout the United States.
Hannah also has a deep background in representing accounting firm clients, and over the course of her career has regularly worked with these firms on risk management, professional liability and mergers and acquisition matters. She has served on the board of directors of the Kansas City Sports Commission and was honored as one of the “Women Who Mean Business” by the Kansas City Business Journal in 2015.
“One of the things we’re most proud of at BKD is our strong litigation and risk management history, and I’m confident that under Jennifer’s leadership, our firm will continue to build on this strong legal standing,” said CEO Tom Watson. “Jennifer is a perfect fit for this role and has already made a significant impact since joining us earlier this year.”
“While I definitely have large shoes to fill in succeeding such an exceptional lawyer, counselor and all-around great person like Tim McNamara, I am excited for this opportunity and look forward to helping the firm continue on its unmatched road to success,” said Hannah.
The announcement continues BKD’s strategic and intentional approach to succession planning. This commitment has helped earn BKD the long-term trust of its clients and contributed to its 11-year run on Inside Public Accounting’s annual list of the country’s highest-performing and best-managed accounting firms.
