DES MOINES, Iowa – Partner Cheryl Clauson has been named the new leader of BKD CPAs & Advisors’ telecommunication practice. With more than 25 years of public accounting experience, Clauson has an established history of working in the telecommunications industry. Effective immediately, Clauson will assume the leadership role for the practice that boasts more than 80 client service personnel who work in the telecommunications industry full time. 

“I’m very excited to have Cheryl take on this leadership role for the telecom niche. Under her leadership, I’m confident we will continue to develop and grow into the future while working closely with our existing telecom clients,” said Jeffrey Naig, managing partner of BKD’s Des Moines and Madison offices.

Clauson has helped clients develop new business ventures and improve the financial performance of existing services. Clauson has extensive experience in the management of telecommunication company audits, including audits involving cost allocations. She also has accounting and audit experience related to acquisition due diligence procedures in the telecom industry. 

“It is a great honor to be given this leadership role. I intend to continue the success that we have seen in the niche by utilizing the talents of the BKD partners and staff working in the telecommunications industry and look forward to future growth,” Clauson said. 

Clauson is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Iowa Society of CPAs, Iowa Communications Alliance and the Missouri Telecommunications Industry Association. She is a graduate of University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, with a B.A. degree in accounting.
