NASHVILLE – Brooke Simpson recently joined BKD CPAs & Advisors’ National Tax Services (NTS) division as an international tax partner based in the firm’s Nashville office. 

Simpson will provide BKD clients with strategic tax planning for U.S. and foreign multinational organizations and funds. She has extensive experience with international structures, including operations and restructurings, Subpart F, GILTI, foreign tax credits, repatriation, permanent establishments, corporate reorganizations, transfer pricing and principal structures. Simpson also brings significant private equity advisory experience on international tax aspects of the mergers and acquisitions process through Internal Revenue Code Section 304(a)(1) and (a)(2) transaction planning, IP planning and debt pushdown structures in the global tax restructuring process.

“Growing our internal services has been one of the top focus areas of our Governing Board. I look forward to Brooke expanding our international tax service footprint in the Southeast region,” said Rob Wagner, managing partner of BKD’s NTS divisions. 

Before joining BKD, Simpson served as an international tax partner and practice leader at a New England advisory firm, and she also brings 14 years of experience from international firms.

Simpson has spent more than 10 years as an adjunct professor for University of Massachusetts Boston, where she develops and teaches various international and federal tax courses at the undergraduate and graduate level. She has a passion for both international tax and horses, owning several American Saddlebred horses that have led to multiple world championship titles. Simpson has a B.S degree in accounting from the University of South Florida and an M.S. degree in accounting from the University of Massachusetts Boston.
